GlaxoSmithKline: a healthy solution

The Client

GlaxoSmithKline

GlaxoSmithKline is a global, $27 billion pharmaceuticals company. The company is extremely research-focused, and relies on having a strong and continuous pipeline of new drugs and vaccines in development in order to sustain growth

Project Deployment Summary:

Prior to using Business Intelligence Solutions, GlaxoSmithKline was relying on hand-coded reports to extract and present information regarding trials performed with newly formulated drugs. This information is used as part of the process for submitting new drugs for FDA approval.

The company has constantly changing requirements for how the information needs to be formatted and presented, depending on the nature of the drug and testing. Hand coding became too cumbersome in the face of these changing requirements.

By using our web based Business Intelligence Solutions, GlaxoSmithKline was able to reduce the amount of time needed to collect and format the information, thereby speeding up the new drug submission process. The business Intelligence Solution is integrated with GlaxoSmithKline’s LIMS system, which tracks the results of the drug tests.

“Business Intelligence Solutions system availability and reliability in the last three years has been simply outstanding.” - Gerry Gormley, Computing Project Leader, GlaxoSmithKline.
